The work I do (and don't do)

I work by appointment only. Please do not show up at the postal address as all you will find is a UPS store.  Call or email for questions and appointments. I have no retail location and do no retail sales, nor do I do any general gunsmithing; no scope mounting, no rebarreling, no cleaning services, nor will I tune up a Glock.

What I actually do is:

Custom Longrifles & Muzzle-loaders

If you are looking for a custom handmade American style Long rifle you are in the right place. I am rapidly moving towards specializing in half-stocked rifles, particularly the Vincent style Ohio rifles. I have done several in the different styles of the Pennsylvania counties and will continue to do so.

I take commissions on a first come, first served basis, however parts availability can slow the process down, sometimes for several months!  It“s best to start planning and sourcing barrels and locks well in advance of the expected delivery date.

Almost all long rifle parts (barrels, locks, hardware) has to come from the USA and generally as rough castings with only the basic machining done. All the metal needs to be filed, polished, and frequently corrected.  Most stock material is sourced by myself here in Southern Ontario rarely will I use a pre-carved stock for anything as they are generally of not great quality.

If you are interested in commissioning a long rifle build, custom stock, or restoration, please start on my Commissions Page

Custom gun stocks

If you read my about us page, then you know I started out restoring and recreating old Winchester stocks, I still do one from time to time as well as sporter stocks, shotguns stocks, and bench gun stocks.

Lever gun stocks are made by hand from scratch in the material you choose, generally Walnut but they also look great in Curly Maple.  They are made very close in dimensions to the originals, but never an exact copy.  Length of pull can be easily adjusted to you, but changing the drop can make them look a little odd.

Sporting gun and shotgun stocks can be made completely custom to your specification for the length of pull, drop to heel, nose, and comb, cast; on or off, customized and/or adjustable hardware, plates, and grip caps.  There is pretty much no limit.  Bench guns are of a similar no two are alike and custom tailored for the owner.

I will not hand carve a military stock from scratch (think Lee Enfield, Garand, Mauser) as I cannot guarantee an exact copy.  However, when purchased as after market stocks these all need hand fitting which I would be happy to do for you.
